The Brazilian Society of Arts, Culture and Teaching, according to Article 2 of its Articles of Incorporation, honoring the Illustrious Maestro, grants to Handel Cecilio Pinto da Silva the Title of Comendador of the Entity, instituted by act of the Extraordinary General Assembly, of July 1i, 1982, in the form of Decree No. 4506, of July 11, 1974, and approved by Decree No. 7569, of January 4, 1983, of Mr. Mayor of Campinas, as the highest honorable distinction for his personal merits, to worship the “Patron of Music”.
