

Farol Baptists play Johann Bach on Saturday
A concert featuring music by composer, violinist and organist Johann Sebastian Bach will be presented at the Farol Baptist Church on Av. Dom Antônio Brandão, 90 at 8 p.m. next Saturday by its Magnificat Choir and organist Handel Cecílio. With free admission, the concert is part of the church’s 75th anniversary celebrations, which will continue until August.
Bach, considered the genius of music, was born in Germany, descended from a large family of musicians. He was a man full of faith who composed in the popular form of Protestant worship, which is the chorale.
The Magnificat Choir of the Farol Baptist Church is conducted by maestro Jander Kenedy Nogueira Soares and composed of members of the church itself, being university students, musicians, teachers, bank entrepreneurs and doctors. It is always accompanied by pianist Lúcia Marim Cavalcanti.
Jander is from Minas Gerais, graduated in Sacred Music and Theology from the Equatorial Baptist Theological Seminary in Belém, Pará. He studied conducting with Elza Lackschevitz and choral singing with Maria José Chevitarese, both from the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro.

The Farol Baptist Church opens today the celebrations of its 75 years of foundation, presenting a concert with music by Johann Sebastian Bach, by its Magnificat Choir and special participation of the organist Handel Cecílio, from Belo Horizonte. Handel Cecílio, from Belo Horizonte.
With free admission, the concert will be presented at the church temple, at Av. Dom Atônio Brandão, 90, Farol, at 8 pm.
