Night of the organ in Csömör
KISHIREK – Monday, 22 July 2019 | 13:35

For the first time the Night of Organs was held in Hungary. On 20 July, the Catholic Church of Csömör in Pest County joined the event.

At the event, which started at 8 p.m., Master Canon Levente Bokros, parish priest of Csömör, welcomed the audience and the organist, Roland Tóth, chaplain of the church of Váves.

Roland Tóth gave a few words about the organ of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Knöör, briefly describing the composers and the pieces he played during the evening. He said that he would not play the usual classical pieces, but pieces that would show a new side of the organ, so that the audience could hear sounds that they had not heard before.

The concert, titled mane nobiscum – stay with us, featured muses by Johann Pachelbel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Eric Forberger, Georg Friedrich Handel, Karl Jenkins, Handel Cecilio, Ferenc Farkas, and an improvisation by Eloado, in which he played the theme “Come Holy Spirit!” at the request of the audience.
