Purpose of the Meeting: This meeting is intended to commemorate Sailor’s Day, celebrated annually on December 13, the date of the birth of Admiral Joaquim Marques Lisboa, Marquês de Tamandaré, patron of the Navy and hero of the Fatherland.
Performance of the National Anthem
The speaker – We invite those present to stand in a position of respect and listen to the National Anthem, which will be performed by soprano Marisa Simões and conductor Handel Cecílio on the piano.
The National Anthem is then performed.
Musical Presentation
Announcer – We will now hear soprano Marisa Simões and conductor Handel Cecílio, who will present the following music: Cisne Branco, by Benedito Xavier de Macedo and Antonino Manuel do Espírito Santo; O Trenzinho do Caipira, by Heitor Villa Lobos; and Oh! Minas Gerais, an adaptation by José Duduca de Moraes and Manoel Araújo to the Neapolitan song Vieni Sul Mar.
