soprano Marisa Simões and conducted by maestro Handel Cecílio, who will also accompany her on the keyboard.

The announcer – At this moment, we will hear the duet with soprano Annelise Cavalcanti conducted by keyboardist and conductor Handel Cecílio, who will present the following songs: Cisne Branco song, lyrics by Benedito Xavier de Macedo and music by Antonino

Manoel do Espírito Santo; O Trenzinho Caipira, by Heitor Villa-Lobos; Oh! Minas Gerais, lyrics adapted by José Duduca de Moraes and Manoel Araújo. On behalf of the 1st Vice-President of the Legislative Assembly of Minas Gerais, Deputy Antonio Carlos Arantes, we take this moment to thank Annelise Cavalcanti and the conductor Handel Cecílio for their participation in this solemnity. Let us proceed to the presentation.

I could not fail to thank our dear soprano Annelise and maestro Handel. They are longtime friends of the Navy long-standing friends of the Navy, always present in our initiatives and who gave us today with this wonderful presentation. Another round of applause, which I would like to ask for this wonderful duet.

About Admiral Flávio Augusto Viana Rocha

Admiral Flávio Augusto Viana Rocha

The Special Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Admiral Flávio Augusto Viana Rocha, born in Fortaleza, Ceará, began his military career in 1981. As a Navy officer, he was six times a military unit holder: three Commands at sea, and three units as Admiral (Navy Media Center, Navy Commander’s Office and Command of the 1st Naval District).

Also as Admiral, he was responsible for International Relations and for the formulation of the Policy, Strategy and Doctrine of the Brazilian Navy, including the Navy’s Strategic Planning. In this position, he led Navy delegations to bilateral meetings with the three countries of North America, nine countries of South America, eight of Europe, five of Africa and one of Asia. He established academic exchanges with several institutions in Brazil and abroad, including King’s College London, where he became a Fellow. Flávio Rocha’s international experience also includes the position of Instructor of Navigation and Seamanship at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.

In the National Congress, he served for four years as Parliamentary Advisor, being the link between the Brazilian Navy and the Chamber of Deputies.

He holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in Naval Sciences from the Naval War College and a postgraduate degree in Parliamentary Advisory and Legislative/Executive Relations from the University of Brasília (UnB) and in Legislative Law from the University of the Legislative. In the strategic area, he has a course in Maritime Policy and Strategy, from the Naval War College and “Strategic Thinking”, from the University of Virginia (USA).

He was awarded 17 national and 4 foreign decorations.
