Baptist School of Music celebrates second anniversary with student auditions

Escola Batista de Música comemora segundo aniversário com audição dos estudantes

On August 24th, a true show of talent could be seen during the audition that sealed the celebration of the second anniversary of the Baptist School of Music (EBM) [https://redebatista.edu.br]. More than 15 students from the school performed at the event, which was held at the Maddox Theater.

At the opening, EBM’s principal, Dr. Handel Cecilio, thanked the school’s teachers for the fine work done and congratulated the students for their great performance. With a grateful heart, the director recalled that it was two years of many joys, always striving for quality in teaching and music produced. “We thank God for this year of pedagogical activities and musical performances of the Baptist School of Music,” said Dr. Handel Cecilio.

The students of the Baptist Kids Choir were the first to perform. Among the songs sung were “Miracles are real” (Soraya Moraes) and “Secret place” (Gabriela Rocha). The Centennial Choir also gave a beautiful performance of the song “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace” (Mary McDonald).

The keyboard class presented the audience with songs such as “Oh, Minas Gerais”. The piano students, in turn, played “Faded” (Alan Walker), and the drums, “Don’t Let Me Down” (The Beatles), among others. The singing class also pleased, performing songs such as “Hey, Dad” (Isadora Pompeo and Marcela Tais) and “Over the Rainbow” (Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg).
The violin class thrilled with songs like “Allegretto” (S. Suzuki) and “Minuet” (L. Boccherini). On guitar, the students played “Amei te ver” (Thiago Iorc); and, on guitar, “They Reminisce Over You” (Scott Paddock), among others.

The audition also featured the presentation of two videos, one about music and the other about the choir, showing how both bring various benefits to human beings.

As Dr. Handel Cecilio pointed out, it was a very pleasant moment, in which family members and guests were amazed by the development of the students of the Baptist School of Music. Luciano Vasconcelos Trindade, father of 10-year-old student Melissa Trindade, was one of them. “I found it sensational. The drum teacher, for example, managed to extract a lot from Melissa. When she performed on the drums, I was surprised. It was a very big development for a short time of class”, says Luciano, praising the entire team of teachers at EBM. “The qualification of the teachers has also always caught my attention,” he said.
