Pipe Organ Concert and Handover Ceremony

In this important ceremony-concert of delivery of the restoration of the pipe organ, o organista Handel Cecilio participated performing the following repertoire: Sonata for Clarines Antonio Soler (1729-1783) *with the participation of the folk player: Ricardo Clerice (as bellows player) All’ Offertorio Domenico Zipoli (1688-1726) Sinfonia – The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba. Considering that this organ, belongs to the typology of “choir organ”, and that it has only one manual and no pedalboard, and a few registers, it is necessary to choose properly the works to be played. There is a previous connection between this church and the organ. On Handel Cecilio’s 12th birthday, his father organized a trek from Belo Horizonte to Nove Lima, and when we arrived in this city, what we first found and got to know was this church.
