

Church performs concert of Bach’s music
The Farol Baptist Church opens today the celebrations of its 75 years of existence presenting a concert with music by Johann Sebastian Bach, in charge of its Magnificat Choir and special participation of the organist Handel Cecílio, from Belo Horizon-te. With free admission, the musical will be presented in the church temple, at Av. Dom Antonio Brandão, 90 Farol, at 20h.
Composer, violinist and organist, Bach, considered the genius of music, was born in Germany, descended from a large family of musicians. He was a man full of faith who composed in the popular form of Protestant worship, which is the chorale.
The Magnificat Choir of the Farol Baptist Church is conducted by maestro Jander Kenedy Nogueira Soares and composed of members of the church itself, including university students, musicians, teachers, businessmen, bankers and doctors. It is always accompanied by the pianist Lúcia Marim Cavalcanti.
Jander is from Minas Gerais, graduated in Sacred Music and Theology from the Equatorial Baptist Theological Seminary in Belém, Pará. He studied conducting with Elza Lackschevitz and choral singing with Maria José Chevitarese, both from the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro. She received great influence from her teacher-master Sara Behar, from Recife. He has been at the Farol Baptist Church for eight months Organist Handel Cecílio is from Maceió, living in Belo Horizonte. He graduated in Organ from the Conservatório Mineiro de Música and has participated in courses and seminars in Brazil and abroad, dedicating himself at the same time as an organ teacher in his own school. He is also president of the Association of Baptist Musicians of Minas Gerais.
Today’s concert is the first in a series that will be held by the Baptists of the Farol, as Jander Soares says. The performance will be divided into three parts: choir. organ and choir. The celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the church continue until the month of August with a series of. activities in praise of God.
