As an artist, I have always dedicated myself to the art of music, building a professional career always with ethics and on technical, theoretical, historical bases and foundations. As an artist I have dedicated myself to the art of music to the fullest, building a professional career always with ethics and on technical, theoretical, historical bases and foundations. As an organist, always distinctly separating the liturgical performance from the concert performance. As an educator, I always try to pass on as much information as possible and form disciples in music, whether as a liturgical or concert organ teacher. Therefore, it was very nice to be able to act in these two areas in the Basilica of Sameiro, as a concert performer and as a teacher through the workshop. I would like to mention the outstanding students participating in this masterclass:
- Azevedo Oliveira (Priest, Degree in Music, responsible for liturgical music in Braga, and responsible for the “Nova Revista de Música Sacra”).
- João Santos (Degree in Music, and organist of the Cathedral of Leiria and the Sanctuary of Fátima)
- Filipe Veríssimo (Organist and chapel master of the church of Lapa Diocese of Porto)
- António Esteireiro (Music graduate, organ teacher at the Gregorian Institute of Lisbon and at the Lisbon Higher School of Music)

- Paulo Lameiro (Degree in Musicology, who is part of the Diocesan Service of Liturgical Pastoral and Sacred Music of the Diocese of Leiria-Fatima)

The Basilica of Sameiro, located in the ancient city of Braga, Portugal, has a deep historical and cultural significance. Known for its imposing architecture and spiritual ambience, the basilica has long been a center for sacred music and organ performances. I was honored with the opportunity to inaugurate the concert series of this Basilica, and thus touch the hearts of the audience through a repertoire and an interpretation. It was also an opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange and artistic collaboration between Brazil and Portugal.
My gratitude to be playing the first concert of this “Inaugural Concert Cycle of the New Basilica Organ”. And many thanks to the Basilica of Sameiro, to Canon José Paulo Abreu, the Confraternity of Sameiro, to Chapel Master Arnaldo Vareiro, and to Brothers Carlos and Luiz Jerônimo of Serafim da Silva Jerónimo & Filhos Ltda.
