Centenary Medal of Colégio Batista Mineiro

Since 2017 the Director and Coordinator of the Baptist Music School, Phd. Handel Cecilio (organist, pianist, e musicologist), started the elaboration of all services and events related to the First Centenary of Colégio Batista Mineiro (Baptist School of Minas Gerais), being responsible for all liturgies (worship services programs), event programs, and all artistic and musical direction. At first, there would only be a single worship service. But, when I joined the committee, I suggested that there be three worship services with the following themes: in recognition of former and current teachers and collaborators, gratitude to God for the american missionaries who founded and maintained the institution, and the main service.Under my administration was the choice of the entire repertoire (songs) sung by the choirs, creation of The Centenary Choir [130 singers] and Coro Batista Kids [50 children singers], The Centenary Quintet Brass Group and Centenary Symphonic Orchestra. I chose all hymns sung by the congregation, and the instrumental songs performed by the Centenary Brass Group, piano and organ preludes and postludes, and by the Centenary Symphony Orchestra (55 musicians). I was also the manager of the entire rehearsal schedule, organisation of the instrumental groups, soloists, vocal technical preparer, and elaboration of the stage maps, purchase of scores and orchestras, and musical guidance by the choir and orchestra conductors. According to the General According to comments, the musical part and the order of worship, coordinated by Prof. Handel Cecilio, reached levels of excellence, evidenced by the performance of the Choir, Orchestra, pianist, and organist”. Most of the songs sung by the choir were based on hymns, and usually with the participation of the congregation. It was a revival of the beautiful traditional hymns of the Protestant/Reformed church. It was precious moments for us to remember and sing ours old and ever actual hymns: so beautiful melodie and lyrics, that tell our hearts about theology and doctrines.
