Handel Cecílio talks about the thesis The organistic art in Benedictine monasteries in colonial and imperial Brazil: their organs, organists and organ builders. Defended at the Institute of Arts at Unicamp, the thesis points to the arrival and later development of the pipe organ, which, even though it did not originate in the ecclesiastical environment, was adopted and converted into a liturgical instrument par excellence by the Christian Church.
