Purpose of the meeting: The purpose of this meeting is to commemorate the 158th anniversary of the Naval Battle of Riachuelo, a key date of the Brazilian Navy.
Performance of the National Anthem
The speaker – We invite those present to stand respectfully and listen to the National Anthem which will be performed by the Handel Cecílio Musical Events Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Handel Cecílio.
The National Anthem is then performed.
Musical Presentation
The speaker – We will now hear the ensemble Handel Cecílio Musical Events, composed of the musicians: maestro Handel Cecílio, conductor and keyboards; Charles Amaral, trumpet; and Rhaniel Veríssimo, vocal. The songs will be presented: Cisne Branco, lyrics by the Brazilian Navy sergeant, Benedito Xavier de Macedo and music by the Brazilian Army sergeant, Antonino Manuel do Espírito Santo; Oh! Minas Gerais, whose lyrics are an adaptation made by the Minas Gerais composer José Duduca de Morais; and also Trenzinho caipira, lyrics and music by Heitor Villa-Lobos.
